Does it even matter anymore? These crooks have dug us a hole so deep and greased each other so much that people are numb to any new scandals, coverups, boondoggles whatever you call it. The sad thing is the Conservatives will completely F up in the next election as they usually do and the dim witted barnacles will vote her back in again.

Careful Terry, Im polite and matter of fact abut it, I don't call those who vote for them barnacles for example. Though I will identify them. The above is for information. Is there anything new? Well yeah there is. The problems in Healthcare and E-Health are legendary. The stuff surrounding Metrolinx is "new". Isn't this the same crew that spent millions in Toronto for a new core to airport service and not listen to advice with respect to how much to charge?
As the NP reported, Billions slated for infrastructure in and around cough cough the vote rich GTA. I'm sure there are dozens of areas, things that could be chosen for XYZ. Not hard to figure out why with support plummeting.........
"corruption" over the quality of asphalt on so many improvements..As an aside the GF and I were just 2 weeks ago, astounded to see the bridge in Brooklin they just spent a year completing for the new 407 being torn up yet again. Maybe this or similar is why.
Tax payers $ down the drain.
But the pedestrian over pass in Pickering takes the cake. Bad enough they hired someone who had never built a bridge before. Bad enough that despite putting a truss in upside down. They rehire them for stage 2?Only to yet again....and they still pay them in full....
Id say more about some things, but........Dont particularly feel like having anyone jump out of the weeds to pick a fight. The last line in the NP article should be "plain enough".

Interestingly those contractors who have been identified as using fraudulent asphalt test samples are also on record as being very large contributors to the Liberals last election. Kind of has an ADSCAM like stench to it. But, the AG publishes scathing annual reports and basically nothing changes. The shelf life of these audit reports gets shorter every year. The stuff she uncovered should trigger massive purging of the staff involved and police investigations. Never comes to that. Usually they get promoted and get bonuses. But what would yet "another " police investigation of the Wynne government bring? Nothing. People expected it and clearly condone it.

"pretty much"
Again I'd say more about somethings, one of which might be "follow the money". Where it being spent, whose benefiting, what companies or other.....etc.
At the end of the day no-one to blame but cough "ourselves" cough....
Each year she releases scathing reports, and as you said.....
This year is no different, except more "new" stuff with respect to Metrolinx and all the work being done in and around the GTA. See also the pan am games...so much
/sigh

Has too much time on their hands
So was the contractor who installed the truss incorrectly, the one who had zero experience installing bridges, and then was awarded the another phase of the project which they screwed up, the same contractor that improperly tightened the bolts on the Nipigon bridge? I don't know why you guys (JBen and terrym) are surprised. In the last election, Ontario voters rewarded the Liberal Party's incompetence. Why wouldn't the Liberal Party keep that mandate?
At least we are starting to see why the budget has gotten so bloody high and I would imagine this is simply scratching the surface of the waste. It is too bad the Auditor General doesn't have any teeth and can only report.

The track record and credibility of a government doesn't mean anything anymore. Elections are a battle of PR, money spent and in some cases physical appearance. Marketing basically. Voters couldn't care less what the deficit is, the erosion of quality education over the years produces voters who don't understand basic economics. These same students absorb years of very biased liberal brain washing. It's too late, the left now moulds future generations of voters. Universities now even prohibit any point of view that doesn't fit the leftist agenda.

Said I wouldn't do it ( refer to another thread). But exactly Skypilot, wonderful quote that. At some point (who knows exactly when that point is reached, devil details I suppose) it moves past blaming Ms Wynne or whoever, and instead the blame must fall on those who are ultimately responsible. In this case the GTA and PS Unions.
Not surprised Dyth, the writing was on the wall way back in 2010. It's just more a matter of being hitched to a train wreck not of my making, of a scale that far, far, far surpasses anything in history here in Ontario or federally. And just

I'm "lucky", I worked on Bay Street all my life, made good coin. Far more than the median, which is 70,000 duo income. While Im getting hammered by delivery charges now a $300 per month Hyrdo Bill ( thats on the low end). Its just the two of us, no kids or teens who runs TVs 24/7, our cooking is minimal and we use a gas stove. multiple loads of laundry a week...doesn't hit me, the way that same bill is hitting people who live and work outside the GTA. Some families are just being crushed. Where jobs are scarcer, and incomes don't come close to whats in the GTA. There are reasons so many move to the GTA. Come January, with Carbon Taxes......
Forget that, read what Ms Lysyk is revealing about Healthcare and the billions being flushed there in over billing, or wait times. Now think about life outside the GTA, where......

Terry, much as I don't like him its way too early to write the book on JT. Hopefully, like the vast majority of those before him. He'll do some bad, some harm and some good to. Just like Harper, just like Chretian, Harris and many many more....
But agree to an extent. Even now these weeks later the "left" still won't accept that really, they are too "blame" for Trump. Cause and effect. Hopefully, he to doesn't do much harm, must say he scares me. Time will tell.
But back on topic somewhat.
You look at the two "new" ones. Metrolinx and the asphalt issue. How many billions are they going into further debt on "infrastructure". Selling Hydro One doesn't even cover that cost. Being a resident of Durham region where they are throwing all kinds of money into Go Service upgrades. Ive walked that bridge many times....All the stations Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa are seeing tons and tons of improvements. And announced this summer, they are extending out Newcastle. Well no surprise given they are losing so much support. But also, one has to wonder if this bridge is just the tip of the iceberg. As Dyth mentioned theres also the bridge in Nipigon (which I think they determined was faulty engineering??). Either way...
How many billions in Asphalt for the newly completed 407 and 412? Are they going to be ripping up sections there in a years time? Read something yesterday on this (Might have been the post or Star) and they are looking at the miles and miles of road work done recently in the city, and some area's that, guess what. Are being torn up...
Can say, the bridge in Brooklin having just been opened months ago, after a years worth of work. Is Once again being torn up.

I wonder if this is going to be the perpetual job for Miller or whomever just like Harmony in Oshawa was for years or Thickson and Victoria. I swear there had to be teenage workers that retired on those jobs.
