I agree. If you think about how much time you spend hunting and fishing, this cost is pretty reasonable. Much less than our monthly hydro bill!

Not sure why people were having issues. I applied for my new license as soon as the licenses became available and had no problems using Google Chrome browser.

This site actually explains it! https://www.ontario.ca/page/how-fish...-fees-are-used
"The province spends 100% of hunting and fishing revenue on fish and wildlife management.
This includes revenue from:
- commercial and recreational licence fees
- royalties
- fines and penalties
The funds go into a fish and wildlife special purpose account, which invests more than $65 million a year in fish and wildlife management."

Lots of ways to spin it.....here is my take on it....
We hunters are game managers. We are doing the rest of the province and insurance companies a favour by managing Ontario game species for all Ontario residents....
Why do we game managers (hunters) have to pay a fee to manage our Ontario resources, shouldn't the government be paying us to do that? Why is it the other way around? It's so unfair us hunters (game managers) get panelized for managing our provinces wildlife.

More to the point, MNRF has no small game strategy or small game management plan, yet is soaking me for a small game licence. Given that everyone has a small game licence, this ought to be the best managed resource in the hunting portfolio ... yet it is not being managed at all.
