Bread Made in India
Years ago I had neighbors who were originally from India.
The ladies made amazing little cake things and a type of bread that was out of this world!
We became friends and they would pop over with little treats and that homemade bread.
For the life of me, I cannot remember what it is called.
Anyone have any good bread recipes from India?
I have tried a few from the net but they always turn out poorly.

I made chai and roti bread...I did not do a very good job of it. LOL
I am pretty sure it is naan bread
Do you have a recipe that you use?
The best recipes come from the people who make them all the time.
I wish I had thought to ask the ladies for their recipes but I was young and did not think of it then.
Ohhhh I wish those ladies were still my neighbors.

The key to good naan is a wood fired oven like a pizza oven.
Believe it or not the P.C. Brand put in the toaster is pretty good.
Can't beat the real thing though.

I called my nephew who is in the food service industry. He said there is a new Indian restaurant that he has heard very good things about. He recommends I try Lemongrass soup. Mmmm...sounds delicious. Going to try that restaurant as it is not far from me at all. Apparantly the owners hand painted murals on the walls and at night, dim the lights and have candles on all the tables.
I can't wait to go

If you're in Toronto try
Sher-E-Punjab on the Danforth in Greek town.

So what's with naan bread? Do you put something on it? Or just eat it with a meal? I've heard of it but not sure how its consumed.
PS: I know you put it in your mouth.

It's like a flat bread.
It's just sooo good.
You gotta try it Roper!
The stuff that my neighbors used to bring over for me was fresh and they served it with a little side dish of something positively divine to dip the bread in.
So long ago now that I cannot remember.
After I go to that new Indian restaurant, I will post about it.
Imagine hunting in India!?!
Now that would be pretty darn cool.
Some serious predators in that country compared to wolves, bears and coyotes.
