Cdn Gun Dog Supply
Got a pop up ad today that these guys are back I biz. However, looks like the same individual who previously ran the company is still affiliated with it. Any recent experiences to recount?

Nothing recent but I will give a Canadian business a chance. I hope they succeed.
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

I agree. But, in return, I expect the business to provide honest service in exchange for my loyalty. The last time I did business with them I had to seel redress thru my credit card company.

Bought a set of Lewis Dog boots from them a few years ago and needed to exchange them for a different size, no reply to any of numerous phone calls and emails. Won't deal with them again. I got an email claiming "under new ownership" as well. If I was the "new" owner I'd have gone with a different name.

I have had good dealings with them in the past.
A year or so ago they helped me out.

I am in the same boat, have not had positive dealings and reluctant to return to Canadian Gun Dog Supply despite new management / ownership. . On a positive note, Dakota Creek Dog Supplies http://www.dakotacreekretrievers.com/ has been excellent with service and consistently fair on price..

As I understand it, the issues started when the original owner moved on and someone else took over. Now it seems the original guy is back.
I bought from them some time ago, when the original guy was there. Never any problems. But it's hard to shake off a stain on your reputation. Nowadays I don't need dog stuff anyway.

Hi everyone. This is John with Canadian Gun Dog Supply. I felt I should make my statement on this board so everyone knows what really happened. My business was a small family business for over 10 years. To make a long story short I went through a dark part in my life in the last 2 years or so. This directly resulted in the business having negative press and eventually me shutting it down. I was happy to do so and felt a huge weight off my back, all that was important then was family. Towards the end I had many ticked off customers with good reason however I refunded everyone and paid out of my pocket to do so. Unfortunately the scars run deep and it is difficult to change peoples minds. They say we all go through some dark time in our life, I never thought it would be me. During the earlier years I ran a very satisfied customer base. Throughout the entire experience I donated regularly to the local clubs and donated without them even requesting. I was happy to do so as I saw how much hard work and effort went into organizing certain events. I regularly gave out freebies whether they were friends or just a new customer I met at an event. Yes I’m still involved in the business today but I have NO ownership. I basically am working for them as a product specialist and running the day to day operations, mainly packing the orders and responding to requests. I have no involvement in the financials either. The company that owns this is a very successful distribution company in the US and therefore I can assure everyone that we will have plenty of inventory on hand and access to whatever else the Canadian market calls for. We now have strong buying power and we will pass the savings to our customers whenever possible. When I say great customer service, fast shipping and more inventory it is the truth. I can’t make everyone happy but I intend on making this company a great Canadian company once again. We will earn the trust back one customer at a time. Please feel free to PM me for information. I know I went into too much detail that probably wasn’t necessary but I felt it was important. Happy Holidays to all. John
