I haven't smoked for something like 50 years but I went through the heart valve thing a few years ago. What will always amaze me is the quality of the surgery and the quick recovery time. Glad to hear things are going well for both you guys and best news is that you're trying to quick smoking.

Great to hear things are on the upswing for you and your wife.
Lifestyle changes are a huge part of our lives as we get older, although some are forced on us before we are ready to accept them.
I know I would have taken better care of my body if I thought I was going to live this long, but when you are in your twenties and having a blast, your health, retirement plans and other minor issues just don't jump into your life plans.
Best of luck for both of you in the future and have a great holiday season.
    John

Went through the same thing last year. I only ended up with one stent, I don't know either, how she survived her heart attack with so much blockage. Centenary Hospital has an amazing cardiac unit!!
I quit smoking in 2005 . Used the patch and I didn't kill anybody. Best of luck to your wife. Merry Christmas.

Sorry you went thru this but happy the outcome is positive, the stopping smoking part will have the biggest impact on your health and well being, its not easy and will take multiple attempts, if you do smoke don't assume you failed, next morning you get up and carry on not smoking, you have to get to the point not smoking is the norm, I quit 8 years ago, toughest thing you'll ever do, most gratifying thing you'll ever accomplish. Good luck.
