Newspaper???? Whats that???...At least that is what the kids are saying now days LOL. Some local or not so local gun clubs carry classifieds...most want you to be a member to sell but not for buying. Look around the web, there used to be a site that listed all the canadian gun clubs by listing and if they had a website. Good Luck.

Please do explain how it's a "risky mistake"? Since it opens the market to buyers and sellers from coast to coast. Most folks only do EMT, which is easily tracked. It's not like you're sending cash in the mail.....

Go ahead and pay your money to advertise in the "local paper" and do F2F deals if that's your choice. But most stuff I've bought and sold have happened in the space of time that it would have taken the newspaper to go to print.
Sending personal information and money with account info on it to nameless, faceless people on an internet forum when there's really no way to verify they are who they say they are or what their intentions may be,to me,is counter-intuitive. No doubt, there's many folks, like you,who have never had an issue, but, from what I've read on some of the threads, I think I'll stick to the tried and true, even as risky as that may be,at times. You can't argue with cold, hard cash and a PAL.

In Nova Scotia we had the Maritime Merchant and in Newfoundland they had the Nuy and Sell. Both were in paper/magazine format ANDROID online. When I left Ontario there was the Triad here and I thought they would have done the same thing and establish an online presence. It was great because you could find everything all in one place, guns, vehicles, sporting goods, livestock etc. Just like kijiji except for the firearms. I buy online all the time so I have no problem with that. If I can buy/barter with neighbour's though even better.

This in and of itself tells me you've never done an EMT transfer.

Buyer wants to buy, ok, send me PAL# and EMT to my email address. Verify shipping address is same as PAL. Simple said done. Major banks broker the transfer between two verified customers. For an added level of security password for EMT transfer can be given in exchange once confirmation of shipping via tracking # takes place.

    Simple really.

But yes, cold hard cash works too. You may just wait a while for a local buyer to be interested in your product.

Canadiangunnutz.com is the most tustworthy site in Canada for selling firearms. It has a user rating system which only forum members can use meaning the person can't easily rig their "trader rating".

Ive also bought and sold on this forum, but have been more selective due to the lack of a rating system in the buy and sell. Ive only sold to those with a high post count for example. I also insist on in person final sales, I dont ship. Given that it is firearms, I meet the buyer in a relatively public area too.

I use Gunnutz regularly. Sold a BLR last month and bought a Marlin Guide gun yesterday. I will not do business with anybody who won't do an EMT. That way the money is in my bank account before I ship. The history rating is very reliable as you can contact everybody they have done business with. Safer than face to face actually. Won't get mugged by the lady at the post office who hands you your package. Some stranger who meets you somewhere? My trader rating has 45 transactions 100% positive ratings.

I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

I used www.firearmscanada.com to pick up a Remington 700 this summer, local meet up, exchanged PAL's and payment and all was good.
