Default Firearms and Hunters Safety Course

My Son will be taking the Firearms and Hunters Safety Course this July, he will also be taking the restricted, which I assume he can. Does anyone know what the current price is for everything?

    GW,

This website might help you out:

As for cost, you are probably looking about about $250 for firearm courses and then possibly $150 for the hunter's education course (prices will vary). Best of luck to your boy.

    From Dyths link:

    Canadian Firearm Safety Course ( CFSC ) 8-10 hours & Test $150.00

Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course ( CRFSC ) 8-10 hours & Test $150.00

Both Canadian Firearms Safety Course & Restricted Firearms Safety Course ( Includes both tests & minimum 12 hours classroom instruction ) $260.00

    Expensive weekend.

When I took my PAL and RPAL course it was $260 for both. The hunting course was $140 on top of that.

When you took the Hunters course was there an extra $25 added for testing ??

I seem to recall an extra charge, but it was many years ago and I can't remember the specifics.

And you now have to take the courses, you can't challenge the test anymore and just pass.

The hunters safety course is a combined course to get both your PAL and your hunters safety, it is cheaper than doing the 2 separately.

For your sons RPAL there are a few guys that do just an RPAL course, it will be cheaper as the PAL is already done, ping me if you want a contact for this.

Actually if you bundle the CFSC and the CRFSC together and then take the hunter's course separately, it would be cheaper.

    Hey Mike,

No there was no extra $25 charge. Not that I can remember at least.

Not sure how old your son is but if I recall correctly you have be at least 18 to get your restricted.
