I can't see the MNRF dropping the course if it was a "revenue tool". As a species they just can't walk away from money.
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

They already have, it was integrated into the normal hunting course.

I took the turkey course, I know that the idea is that it would help with safety but nobody failed out of the 800 or so that were there, it was just a tax grab.

It all comes back to knowing your target and what is beyond it, if you follow this it does not matter what you hunt.

If people are shooting at red for turkey then what about somebodies kid walking in the bush with a red collar on their shirt, are they now dead and still in the wrong because they had red on? We have to assume someone is there, no matter if you have sole permission or not, safety has nothing to do with the other person as you cannot control them.

I think they are banking on the increased turkey licence sales to make up the loss in course revenue...

I got my turkey licence last year at this time. I had to order a DVD (I think it cost $35) and they sent it along with an official receipt that I had to take to a hunter safety examiner who gave us the test.

I wonder how many guys that haven't taken the course wouldn't mind an on-line summary of what the course covered. I'd never really thought about how to get another turkey hunters attention (safely) when I'm all set up an he/she wanders in to my setup. It's not like deer hunting where you're wearing orange. It's easy to get shot turkey hunting because everyone is camoed.

I can see covering it in the hunting course for new hunters but how do the older hunters learn the proper way to hunt turkeys???

If they sold the DVD or offered it online say for 5 - 10 bucks I would take it.

Same test.. till he got it right. ALL IN THE NAME OF SAFETY ONE AGAIN WE GOT CLUCKED
