Man, this board is cliquey, eh? Some folks just get no responses. Ya, I've been a member for a while and only contribute when I can actually have something to say (sure, I could add about a hundred "that's cool bud"s to increase my post count). Really, no one on this board can tell me the ice thickness at Sibbald's -apparently 100+ other people are interested too...
I get it if I was asking about about a lake in the middle of no where but cripes, guys...

Perhaps no one here has been out to sibbalds point recently. Aurora is pretty close so perhaps you can go check it out and let us know. Or you could ask on the lake Simcoe message board??

The board is not cliquie because you didn't get an answer. You didn't get an answer because it's a shotty ice year and sibbalds is on the edge of the ice line. Willow beach was reportedly open water a few days ago, not that far. I checked the ice at sibbalds just before the warm spell and it was all chunk and pack ice, very susceptible to warm and wind. If the ice is safe it probably hasn't been for that long and may be inconsistent. If you're planning to go, go. Check the ice when you get there and if it doesn't look good go around the corner to VB, PB or Btn.
Heeere fishy fishy fishy fishy! :fish:

maybe you might want to check out some LESS CLIQUIE forums, they SPECIFICALLY deal with Lake Simcoe, use GOOGLE your best friend.

Glad to help, I would have piped in earlier but the last ice report request was very specific about wanting recent first hand info only... because I'm not nearby all I can provide is an educated guess. Happy to know that was good enough
Did you make it out at all?

I was out off willow beach Thursday but didn't venture very far past the pack ice, was on 4" of good Black Ice, But would say not safe outside that little bay area but with these cold days and nights it should be making ice.

I was out on cooks bay and the ice was good there. Maybe change your plans and head over there perch were biting good if that's what you are looking for.
