Also same as I have, Javelin 21MSX ( ranger haul ) 9.9hp 4stroke kicker, 175hp Johnson outboard, 72lb minkota maxxum on the bow. Why becausee this boat is stable and will handle anything you throw at it, has lots of room and I like it....

so a small HP is a must for a kicker then...makes sense..guess the big motors can't handle the slow speeds..the budget is 35k...but I would like to spend a whole lot less...so lets talk electronics now..my knees ain't what they used to be, so I'm thinking a self deploy kind of trolling motor and I'm a Humminbird guy from the start..but am open to new ideas..what are your thoughts guys..

I would look for something with a larger beam and a deeper V-Hull boat. Fibreglass is a great option since it’s heavier and will take the waves better but if budget is kept in mind an Aluminum boat will do just fine and can take the abuse with less horsepower. Hope this helps
