    Why not make a new post in the "OOD Fun Turkey Contest" "sub forum" for the results???? Make it for results only and people can post up their own thread to tell us about their hunt if they so please in the regular turkey forum. Will make keeping track of results much simpler and is they way it has always been done.

    Get a hold of a mod and they can un sticky or archive the 2016 contest and make the 2017 contest a sticky. Ether way you can just start a new thread in the sub forum titled

    "2017 OOD Fun Turkey Contest Results"

    I know this (Duckslayer) but no mods have replied to me or changed it yet. It would be a lot easier if they did change it.

    Have You PM'd them??? Ether way you can still post new threads in the sub forum, doesn't necessarily have to be a sticky. Just a suggestion to make things go smoother and easier to keep track of scores.

    Well, I roosted 2 Toms and jake last night, which happend to be right behind my established brush blind. Got out there nice and early, sitting in the blind by 5:15am as I knew they would be close. But by 6:00am it was light and not a gobble, i figured it was because of the rain, but as soon as a crow let out a call, the Toms answered back loudly! They were only roosted about 100yds away in a tall Pine tree. They gobbled at the crows for another couple minutes, the rain then picked up again and they went silent. A couple more minutes passed and the rain let up, it was now 6:30am so i started a loud sequence of calling (due to the wind and rain) and sure enough they answered back, they were on the ground and coming at me. They entered the rye field and started walking over to my single hen decoy, they got within 40 yards and i let out a couple quick clucks to stop them, lined up on the closest bird and dropped him with one shot at 6:35am. The other Tom took off back into the woods, but the Jake just stood there trying to figure out what was going on. He eventually went back into the woods and i went and collected my bird.
    He weighed in at 22lbs 10oz, A nice 3 year old, his beard was a little short, it has blonde tips on the end, I believe it was likely longer but froze in the winter and broke off. I got the beard at 8.5" long and the spurs at 1-1/8 long. Pictures below

    If you need me to re - measure anything let me know!
    Going to try and fill the next tag with the bow!

    Thanks!

    got out this afternoon and dropped this tom in literally 10 minutes.. set up after seeing them in the field to the north side of our bush.. set up and called him in with a jake.. i apologize for the pics, i had my boy help take the pics as i held the tape.. if they are not clear enough to enter into the contest i totally understand, not trying to cause issues.. so he weighed in at 26 lbs on the dot, 11 1/8" beard.. right spur is 1 1/8" and left spur is 1 1/4"... shot him with the beretta 12 gauge shotgun..

    so if you allow this to count despite the pics not being overly clear, the score would be:

    beard = 11 1/8" ---- 11.125 X 5 = 55.625
    longest spur = 1 1/4" ---- 1.250 X 40 = 50
    method = shotgun ---- 0
    total score is 105.625

    please post if this is not allowed, totally understand if it is not... i still have the beard and the spurs, so can remeasure and post cleared pics if needed.. thank you

    Great Bird what a donkey congrats. 105.62 will be hard to beat. The pic of the beard is not great, i'll let it stand for now but please save the beard in case if needed for further measurement .
