Ex-member. Left Boredom behind in 2004.
Enjoyed the controlled deer hunt. Nice clubhouse. Good 3D archery range and until 2002, they made and sold maple syrup.
The shooting club kind of sucked because at the time there were no benches so all shooting was prone.
At the time they were overloaded with associate members who were non-military, most of whom lived in the GTA, but I believe they pared those numbers down.

    Used to be.

Unless you're a current or retired member of the CF, or able to qualify as an ordinary member ( LEO, Fire, EMS or retired from same) then getting in as an associate may have a bit of a wait.

There's a few guys I know who actually are posted to Borden who come down the road and shoot at Barrie. ( Take that for what it's worth).
"Camo" is perfectly acceptable as a favorite colour.

I was an associate member for 2 years. The cost is very reasonable and the range officers were pretty good. The reason I left was due to the fact that the ranges are only open 2 days a month typically. It made getting out to the range difficult with a busy schedule, add in bad weather and you could go months without a chance to go. I also ran into a problem where most days were on their small range (cant remember if it went out to 75yds or so?) but on rare occasions it was the 1000yd range. I showed up once to shoot handgun on the 1000yd range day (my mistake for not checking) and was not able to shoot that day.

Overall a good value but not for people with busy schedules.

Former regular member. Retired. Live a bit far away, big hassle to pay and renew each year - had to physically go to Buell Gym during office hours. Other options have much nicer facilities, better hours etc. for not a lot more money.

I'm a current member. The range is now open most weekends
