Another great year in the books!! Started off great on opening day with Dad and I doubling on a couple of nice Toms! A bunch of great hunts with lots of success for friends and family then I finally I punched my second tag this past Saturday on a great Tom with my daughter along to watch.
Opening day bird
10 1/4" beard
15/16" spurs
19 Lbs
Score of 88.75
Second bird May 27th
10-13/16" beard
1-5/16" spurs
23.9Lbs
Total of 106.56
2 bird total of 195.31
Opening day double
May 27th with measurement pics for the contest.
Good luck to those that are still after them the last few days, don't let the bugs stop you from going out, the Toms are in chase mode now so still good chances of connecting!
I love fishing but REALLY it is just a way to pass time until hunting season!!!!
I had forum member (BigBuckHunt) reach out to me. He harvested a nice Tom but didn't have great pics of the measurements. Fortunately for him he had it measured from the owner of Lake Huron Rod and Gun and he was able to provide proof of measurement documented for his contest. So congrats to BigBuckHunt with a score of 107.5 puts him in second place for now until pics of bird is provided

Entry for the contest 10 3/4 beard 1 5/16 spurs 22.68 lbs for a score of 106.25. I had the bird scored for a local contest and he measured a 11 inch beard but when I took the pics for this contest a couple days later I couldn't get more than 10 3/4 so rules are rules and it looks like there is a tie for 3rd.
