Forcing cone sbe2
Has anybody had the forcing cone lengthened on their sbe2? If so can you recommend a reputable gunsmith. Thanks in advance!

I haven't done it with my SBE2, but if I were to do any modifications whatsoever, I would trust Casey at Tactical Ordnance Inc in Newmarket. http://tacord.com/services/gunsmithing/

I've had a few forcing cone extensions. I use John Holman at Sail in Oshawa. Usually under 100.00 per gun. Improves pattern and reduces recoil. Cheers, Jim

You may have a problem if, your barrel is chrome lined, better find out before you try to have it done and have problems .
If it is chrome lined, you will be cutting into the chrome lining and exposing the barrel steel, it will then be possible to have the chrome actually peeling off as on a chrome bumper of a vehicle that has been damaged, I'm not sure if I'm explaining this satisfactorily .
I have had 2 shotguns done, both O.U. sporting clays guns, both done in the U.S. the shop that did them for me were the ones that explained about the chroming, it is n't like the decorate [shiny chrome ] on bumpers , but an industrial hard chrome , they did not want to do any guns that had chromed barrels due to problems later on.
That's the way it was explained to me.

I've done my own shotguns and a few friends guns with good results. It's not difficult to do, it will take a couple hours at first, but once you do it a few times, it only takes about an hour incuding polishing.
Tools available at Brownell's. The tools cost me the same as getting a gunsmith to do it for me, so if yiu have several guns to do, it is a cheaper option.

What problems are you experiencing that want to make you do this modification?

None really. I did it to my montefeltro and noticed a huge difference on felt recoil so I figured why not.......I then heard about the complications that can arise from doing this to a chrome lined barrel and thought I'd ask if anyone has done it.
