nice sturgeon...I caught my first last week a 4 footer in detroit river on light tackle for walleye...55 min fight just to have it break my line up at the boat. really cool looking fish I cant imagine trying to lift that sucker up.

Were you with a guide? I dont believe they recommend picking them up out of water or noosing them due to damaging the tail fin - try googling it some states have banned picking them out of the water. Thats prob a 20-30 year old fish and every fish counts with their declining population...hopefully the photo op was worth the risk?
