Default Wings to strap on to dummies

    Hey everybody!
My pup Wilbur is showing some improvement in his retrieving. I'm taking his duck training much more seriously now.

I only had 1 duck wing for use on a training bumper. Anybody know where I can purchase wings for training use? Get him used to the feel of feathers.

I'll be up at the cottage where he'll be getting 2 short training sessions in the water each day. I also started keeping a training log to mark his progress.

I got lucky somehow... without much direction from me, he brings the dummy right to hand.

Next question... any tips of variations of dummies/bumpers? I just have a light rubber orange one. Was going to get one of those 10lb canvas ones to seem like a late season duck or early/young goose.

You should look into a black/white for marking drills and orange bumpers for blind retrieves. Thats what i was taught... Due to vision and colour perception of canine

Generally white or flashers (white / black) for marking and orange once the dog is starting to run blinds. If you have the ability to obtain birds for training, generally bumpers are used for drill work / yard work and birds for marks in the field.

I've never bothered much with wings on dummies. More work than it's worth. Use dummies the way they are and just add in dead birds - ducks and pigeons.
