Suggestions for a decent Spinning reel

My old Daiwa spinning reel has finally just plain wore itself out from usage. Parts are no longer available for it so I'm looking for a decent, won't break the bank reel but must have a decent or above average quality drag. This reel will see the bulk of its days jigging pickerel and some flat-lining for lakers as well. Most of my reels will be loaded up with 10# - 15# braid or mono.
So I'm open to suggestions for what you folks are using

Shimano. Even my $30 ones have been great.
Just pick ones in your price range and buy it.

okuma ceymar 40 is working great for me...river jigging and and 3 way setups for trolling no problem. drag is oil felt and works great. smooth action 6 ball bearings for 50$ Im going to get 2 more for my other jigging rods.

Havent tried but hear great things about pfluegar president or however its spelt.

Sawbill I would suggest you will need to spend at least 50 +. I find the reels today are not as good as a 10 reel 30 years ago. The Shimano seem to be pretty good. I need a new one as my current one I have never liked from day one it was only suppose to be a stop gap measure originally when I bought it.

Take a look at the Mitchell 300 Pro. I replaced my old reel with one on my walleye rod. Back in the day, everyone had a Mitchell 300. Its light, and silky smooth.
I can't say much about the drag, I haven't had the need yet, but the reviews are good.

Looks like a nice reel has 11 bearings. But I must admit I do prefer the little thumb bail flipper.

Maybe this will go on sale at some point or I could use my Canadian Tire money. The Canadian Tire one is 99.00 but for 49 you can get the 300-C from Amazon, but it only has 8 bearings mind you probably better then my crap Shimano IX2000.

I like Abu Garcia reels. The Orra and Cardinal have worked nicely for me. I especially like the heavier bail on them. It just seems more robust.

I'm not terribly concerned about price and do like to feel what I'm buying when I buy. Its a crap shoot with Amazon.ca but you are right--their prices are hard to beat.

Sawbill, I have pretty much every brand going and as people have said, Shimano is A good Choice as is the Abu-Garcia, and the Pflueger reels are good as well.

OKay......I'll remember you for that one!

Trying to impress upon the sales guy that I was more concerned with the quality of the drag and less so about it having 50 plus bearings and nice color scheme was a lost cause. I looked at the Penns because I am familiar with their super good trolling reels ( I have 5 ) but their spinning reels seemed to made from used cast iron frying pans. They were super heavy and complex.
After looking at way too many reels I gave up and bought the Pflueger President. My last Pflueger was an old casting reel built somewhere in the 40's or 50's that probably cost about $1.50 when new.
