I was experimenting with a pail filled with salt (untreated road salt ) and buried in dug hole in the ground
the reason to the salt not to dissolve so quickly , and also for the site to attract game for years to come ,
and find salt at the bottom of the pit , also the site to not to be very low land , elevated spot ,
but water close by.
In successful hunting puling the trigger is the last 10%
the rest is Learning and preparation for the hunt ... (90%)

You can also use water softener salt which is 5 - 8 bucks for 20 kg (45 pounds).

The down side of this is that some people will start to treat these sites like their own property, and get possesive of crown land.

I don't see an issue. I Any place I see being used for bear or Deer I move on. I'm not even that far north. Just up around Chalk River and everyone else does the same. You really don't see issues like that in the North, I'm sure there is probably the odd one. Even here in Ottawa I think in 20 years I have never seen that. We do have the odd trespass issue usually around farms.
