I guess it would depend on which harvest report... Some are mandatory, some are not. I think I read on here that a bear hunter never reported his harvest report and got charged... The MNR went to his house to administer the ticket in person.

Personally I never heard of someone not being allowed to buy a tag because of not filing a harvest report...

I have hear that if you fail to send in a controlled hunt report, you are not eligible to get a tag the following year. I don't know if this is the case or not. I have never taken the chance and not reported.

Me either, I just return them.
Like Frank posted, I have heard of visits by MNR to "encourage compliance."

The set fine for failing to submit is $150.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Looking at the Fixed Fine Listings, I thought they nailed you under #246 or #247...now at $200 ?

    My list is 17.7 updated May29,2014. Wolf/Coyote 29.1(3)-$100; 48(1) Deer-$150;49,2(2) Elk-$150. I couldn't find the one for Black Bear,but,I'm sure it's the same.

I don't know about the fines, I just think it is the right think to do as I believe this is how they decide on next years tags. Think about it, the don't have the money to go do their own surveying any more. So people don't call in their downed turkey, stats say on kills are down so they going to figure that the bird population is down and reduce the taking of 2 birds. Just my opinion
