The alt left loonies had everything their way during the 8 years of Obama much to the suffering of the middle class. Tons of SJW BS, business regs, OSHA, IRS, EPA and the 16 intelligence agency spying.

Now that Trump is President, the left can't stand it that Hillary lost. Couple that with the fact Trump tells it like it is, the fringe right NOW feels like they have the floor to push back and ramrod their opinions, just like the left did for 8 years.

I know of NONE that support neo nazis/KKK and the like. All the people I know thought we took care of that crap in the 1940s and the 60s.

Just remember recent history and the left /right struggle in Germany. Seems it gave rise to a Monster and his party. That is the danger of the fringes.

I do know this for a fact, US history has proven time and time again that Americans are not loath to pull the pin and see what's on the other "side." The Civil War comes to mind.

Destroying/removing history, denying the past and attempting to dictate the present will change nothing and only create an even sharper and more stark division for which many would stand against.

Sounds strangely familiar doesn't it, sort of like the current playbook of ISIS and the Taliban of today eh?

When you start labeling people as extremists it is so easy to become an extremist yourself.
Let's change one group to sportsmen/women and the other to Anti's. 1) Which group has the right to not be attacked? 2)Which group do you think is most likely to violently attack the other? 3)Which group do you think is most likely to have "Conservative" views?

Answers:

1) BOTH groups should be able to "SAFELY" express their option.

2) The Anti's use Violence as their preferred method of dealing with any one that does not have the same option as them.

3) Easy answer The Sportsmen/women.

I agree with your point and your facts. Many people do not get the truth in their news, don't want the truth and refuse to see the truth of a situation.

There WAS, there IS and there HAS been for some time, WAY more violence instigated by the left.

However, there are several issues being blurred into left/right, racial/nonracial, etc.

Some of those statues are war heroes, significant historical persons and/or founding fathers. Perception doesn't/won't change those facts regardless of how they are viewed.

Removing those statues causes unnecessary alignment, resistance and the emotions and dogma that go with one's historical heritage.

It is one thing to be opposed to racism and another to attempt payback. People can accept that racism is wrong yet see statues as legitimate history and for them to be used as an origin of discussion and teaching of racial equality, no different than Rosa Park's statue in the Capital.

Removing representation of one's past history will not further goodwill between all peoples and only forces division.

The old saying "you can't make your candle burn brighter by blowing out mine" comes to mind.

Amen, the left would have you believe they invented the 1st Amend on free speech yet will do anything to suppress it(as viewed at UOC Berkeley, etc) if one has an opinion contrary to their hive mind.

However, they filter "free speech thru the lens of identity. An LGBT black woman will always have more free speech "right" than a white male before a word is uttered because the left sees a white male as less experienced in being black, gay, female, etc and therefore unworthy to speak with validity on those experiences.

The illogical assumption that one must live an event to understand it is a throwback type logic that society left in the dark ages, where you could only know it if you did it.

Thank God some of us can learn in other ways today and even discuss it.

One thing that would help is a news channel that's not pumping out lies.
I found myself wondering if my tv remote can block cnn.
Someone needs to find out who is paying for the news and the protesters.
