    Default GPS Tracking systems

I don't want to derail or highjack other threads.

If the goverment and the do gooders of Ontario are truly concerned about the safety and well being of hunting dogs and the safety of the general public. They should make tracking collars legal and manditory for hunting dogs. I would also reccomend a fine for non owners removing collars. This technology is proven and in use world wide. Why should our valued hunting companions be lost, lost and injured or at risk.

You expect governments to act intelligently?

Industry Canada has approved one GPS system for use in Canada. Just unfortunate it is not the one that everyone owns. Sport Dog Tech 2 is approved and available from Canadian retailers.
Also found out dogtra Pathfinder is approved for use in Canada, utilizes google maps and your smart phone.

I can no longer imagine running my hound without one.

Marc Corbin at Industry Canada has stated and assured me it is approved. It is also sold at Cabelas in Ottawa. The approval can also be found on the Industry Canada site. Another approved distributor of the product is selling them in our area.
Frustrating. Got to love the internet.

The antenna looks like it wouldn't last an hour on my dogs.
