I use the garmin pro550 more bells and whistles then my old TT 500. Overall it's a good setup lots of adjustment for momentary and constant and the layout is the best for changing levels on the go.

It is not a "shock" collar ... it is an electronic training collar where you work with the lowest level of stimulation that is noticeable to you dog.

Garmin makes a PRO series (PRO550, PRO70, SportPRO) and a Delta series. Dogtra also manufacturers a range of collars depending upon the features and $$$ you are looking for and want to spend.

One size does not fit all with e-collars. What type dog do you have?
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

Was there not a move afoot to have them banned in Ontario? I'm fairly certain that they were in Quebec and the Maritime provinces. I'd sure check before laying out some big bucks for them.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Really? I'd heard that dual purpose shock/tracking collars are pretty common for retrieving and pointing as well as tracking dogs. I'd be very surprised to hear that they are in fact banned in Ontario.

Would that be laid out in the most recent hunting regs?

No, electronic training collars have not been banned in Canada. There was rumour that certain governments officials were going to look at what was happening in the U.K. with anti-collar legislation. The reason why not to call it a SHOCK collar on a public forum. The original collars on the market only had one setting and it was hot. Today, training methods have changed and collars have developed to the point where if you understand how to use the collar, properly low level stimulation is used

Yes....only the low end product lines advertising use the term 'shock' ...In the upper end product lines the use the term 'static stimulation'....LOL...

Reminds me of when I used to drag my sock feet across the carpet to 'static stimulate' my sisters nose ..LOL

    Hi Terry,
It's for an Australian Shepherd, only 14 wells old but it'll grow.
Do you know of a good e-collar?
    Thanks
