Possibly the Delta XC versus the Delta Sport? You may have a newer / older generation of the Delta but I just tried to change out contact points on a customer's Delta collar and the points were not interchangeable. To the OP ... if you do look at the Delta series by Garmin (or any other collar brand for that matter) be sure to ask about the ability to change the standard length contacts, to longer ones if needed.

I don't want to but I'm working on it (contacted a mod). I will never get use to the North American Correctness, a real head shaker. Don't you feel like It's taking a man manhood?! It really does to me...

E-collars are probably the most overused and most misused piece of training equipment going and their incorrect use just lends support to the anti-collar side. Anyone planning to get his (or her) first collar ought to look carefully at how they're used in the retriever world (the state of the art) and in particular understand the concept of indirect pressure.
I'm not sure why there would be any need for an e-collar in training a family pet, personally....

It's proven to be extremely useful with my family pet, who also is being trained for wounded game recovery. I know more than a few owners of high drive dogs that also find the device useful. Like you said, it's all about how you use the device.

I've got an older model Tri Tronics Sport 50 Collar that still works great, (purchased in 2003). Have used it on 3 dogs, works at a good distance and battery still very good, can't complain.

Possibly.
I'm an advocate for e-collar use.
Just hate that anyone cruising by could see that, and get the entire wrong idea.
Maybe overly PC....

Garmins are illegal in ON but many use them anyway - not me. I've used a Dogtra 2500 B/T for 20 years ( Google), cheap, long- lasting , effective, and long points available.

Only the Garmin GPS collars are illegal, they make a full line of training collars (e-collars) as well that are legal which is all that has been discussed in this thread.................
