Wild Boar Hunting ...in Ontario

As a farmer I would hate to see wild boars here. More crop damage than a coon
So many in Texas that they hunt them from helicopters with automatic weapons. They are supposed to be dangerous and difficult to hunt.

Texas is very large and for the most part of it, "feral hogs are not seen "
Given the size of Ontario, 1,076 million km2 verses Texas @ 695,662 km2 , which is roughly 2/3, [64.76] percent of our provinces size, you can see where in suitable habitat for them , they are quite numerous.
Florida , to which many Canadians go for vacations, yet not many vacationers see feral hogs of which the state has many.

The idea of introducing an invasive species to our area is completely ridiculous.
The fact that some of you are supporting this notion leaves me at a complete loss.
No, we don't need more invasive species in Ontario.
If you aren't happy with what you can hunt here, than go somewhere else.
Don't destroy our agricultural so you have something fun to shoot.
Think about it.....

I agree 100% with you but it makes me chuckle, here is a list of sportsman sponsored invasive species that come to mind at 9:30pm.

- Largemouth Bass, moved from lake to lake view trains
- Ringneck Pheasant
- Hungarian Partridge
- Pacific Salmon

- European Hare

I have only seen the cool videos of the hunting... and the videos of the damage... why do we want another invasive species. They are also a potential vector for carrying disease to the domestic pig herd - not cool if your lively hood depends on pigs.

Or we should not have... a cheap ontario grown organic meat to eat ...?

well they are here in Ontario and highly elusive, however they have a lot of unsettled land to move around especially in cottage country

Where do you think all the wild turkeys and elk came from that we now are able to hunt? Are they all that bad, I think not. Maybe Bison would be great for Ontario too.
