    Default Barnes spit fire sabots

Thinking of trying the Barnes spit fire sabots this fall on deer out of my muzzle loader. Anybody try these out on deer, what was the performance like? Accuracy, knock down power, good blood trail etc.

fishhawk, i have taken around a half dozen deer with the Barnes Spit Fire TMZ BT in 250 gr. All were shot under 100 yds, and none ran farther than about 35 yds. Most went straight down and the ones that didn't left a very good blood trail as the bullet always seems to go straight through leaving both entry and exit holes. I get surprisingly good accuracy out of my Austin Halleck. Best of luck with the upcoming deer season!

I'm a big fan of these sabots as well, but want to mention the I had to switch to the TEZ sabots to get them down my T/C Triumph barrel easier. I had heard this from others with T/C barrels as well. Just something to keep in mind if you find them a little too stuff going down.
