Sounds like a good excuse to buy a 30-06 and a 270.

Tons of better options for a SW varmint and Ontario deer rifle, the 270 and 30-06 are so close it makes it really hard to justify. Now, 243 and a 30-06, 25-06 and 30-06, 257 Roberts and 30-06, 250 savage and 30-06, 260 Rem and 30-06, etc
