Congrats to the Astros
Not sure if anyone else spent a few late nights watching the World Series but it was spectacular, only 4 hours sleep last night but well worth it to see the Astros win their first ever World Series.

Was a great series Fox but watching these 2 teams battle it out shows how far the Blue Jays have to go to improve to be contenders. I love baseball and can hardly wait for spring .

i'm a huge baseball fan. Love the game. Great series.
Yes the Blue Jays have a long way to go. You need to have ALL the pieces to win baseball championships. So difficult.
Rogers Corp. has enough cash to make it happen but some combination of miss management and "afraid to spend" is in the way.
Go Red Sox!
Sidenote: Many sportsfans don't like baseball. They find it boring. That's OK.
Of all sports - for me - no other is as dramatic and exciting as a ballgame in the late innings.

The Jays pushed out AA and brought in a guy who wants to rebuild again, fine, but you are going to lose a lot of fans once again when you take 20 years to get back to the show, frustrated this past year and only really started cheering and following the game hardcore when Cleveland went on their winning streak and of course, to cheer against the Yankees.
The people who think baseball is boring just do not understand the game, it is the most complex game out there and it takes a lot to understand, you miss one thing and the game is lost.

I used to be a Dodgers fan long before expansion. Now I have to stick my Brooklyn jersy back in the closet for another year. But like so many, I don't care who wins as long as the Yankees lose.

Ha ha - As a Red Sox fan I love to hear the Evil Empire (Yankees) get trashed. I think it probably has its roots in the Steinbrenner days when he bought all those great teams. But I'm not blind to the fact the Red Sox are probably 2nd in the hate category.
With respect to the Blue Jays - They have a ton of money - but I think most often the teams that excell are teams with individual owners. Rich individuals who are hard core baseball fans and willing to do anything, spend anything to win. Corporations (Rogers) don't seem to win as much. IMHO.

That was a great series. I watched every game . The proposal during the celebrations was ... no words. Houston needed some good news and they got it!

I agree 100% with that. Corporations act like the businesses they are, most concerned about maximizing their profits. If the team happens to do well along the way, that is a bonus. Individual owners are more in it to win a championship at any cost.
I watched most of the playoffs this year, and I found it entertaining baseball.
