    Hey Marc...

Got my PAL a couple weeks ago, both restricted and non-restricted. That, sir...was quicker than I thought. Went shopping with a bunch of guys last weekend and got a Mossberg 535 and she's gorgeous :P

Anyway, I'm busy the next couple of weekends, so I'm hoping I can join you guys again soon.

    Cheers,
    tcs

Congrats tsc...if we have a late start to winter you should be able to get some time on the range to a least pattern some different shells so you're ready for Turkey season in the spring !!

That would be great sir, thanks.

Report from the range: the Mossberg 535 shot like a dream. Patterned out the gun and it looks to shoot just a tad low at 20 yards. Brought my daughter along and she shot a gun for the first time and LOVED it. Suffice to say we shot a whole box of ammo....lol.

Also...and this was the highlight of the day: there was an older couple there shooting some handguns. Curious, I went up and asked what guns they were shooting. The guy had a 1911 (.45 I think) and the gal had a 9mm and she immediately asked, "Ya wanna try!?", and I'm like "Hell ya!!!". What a nice thing to do. It was so much fun. I'm in the market for a handgun and, depending on the day, am bouncing between getting the M&P .22 or its 9mm variant. The guy mind dumped a whole bunch of info on conversion kits, and some other stuff for me to consider.

Anyway. The more I get into this, the more I start to love the community around firearms and hunting. Such a friendly bunch of folks.

The 535 is a nice firearm and you can shoot all 3 sizes with it 2 3/4 3 and 3.5 inch. Several times I have stopped to grab some ammo for a friend who could only chamber 3 inch and all that was left was 3.5. Personally for geese I use the 3.5 ducks I use what ever is cheap and usually that's 2 3/4.

I have had mine for about 5 years now and very happy with it. In a few more years I will give it to my son and buy another shotgun for myself maybe the Mossy semi 935.

I will take you up on that offer. I have a couple of 100 Lee cast slugs ready to try on accuracy. Just haven't taken the time to go to range.
