However, your point about my signature has absolutely nothing to do with the topic of this thread, which you started btw. You don't like the way they are protesting? That is fine but you still seem to fail to understand they are exercising their rights enshrined in the US constitution. If you don't like that, then simply move to a country where freedom of expression is strictly controlled. Countries like China, North Korea, Cuba, Syria, Burma, or Turkmenistan know how to silence government critics. Perhaps one of those countries would be better suited for you to live in.
    Hi . Dyth!,
I see that you got up on the right side of the bed today !

I think the point is that they have the right. But that doesn't make it right.

I think the point that Joe is making is that Americans should be given the right to free speech as long as they have the same views as him, add up everything he writes and the links that he posts and it is pretty clear. He sure sounds like someone who would have no problem backing a dictator, maybe he and Trump should pick up the US Constitution and have a read.

Any kind of non-violent protest is the right way as opposed to the alternative. By doing what they are doing, they are bringing a hard and uncomfortable topic onto a national platform. A topic, which in the past rather than be discussed, has been left to fester.

Who decides? Oh because some don't like it ...like keeping your one muskie? If no laws are broken, suck it up , they disagree with you, to bad.

    Man, way too many emoticons!
Anyway, if I was paying some clowns obscene salary to play football or baseball or whatever they can do what they want--as long as its on their time and their dime.
I'm sitting down to watch a football game, not some over priced character trying to make a political statement.

Turn it on after the anthem singer , easy peasy, problem solved .... no you want to change what others have the right to do. Those people who pay the players obscene amounts of money as you say ,make billions off them, that is the only reason the owners own a team , not to be patriotic.

No, I don't want to change what they have a right to do. I never said that. Having a right to something doesn't make it right is what I said. I just don't agree with the how and the time and the place they want to drag their politics to the forefront. This style protest is going in college ball as well so you can do away with the money argument.
Clearly I come from a different era where being respectful was important. That's certainly on the back burner now with this me-first generation.

Stop watching them and they will lose their jobs, you have the right to protest by not giving them your hard earned dime, they have the right to protest by kneeling, standing, saluting, holding a fist in the air, anything they want when the anthem is being played. This is what so many Americans fought and died for, it is called freedom of expression, without that America is no better than Sadam's Iraq, Stalin's Russia or Hitler's Germany, if you are going to quash them for their opinions then you are on a very slippery slope.

Sawbill my point was, who are you to decide what is right for them? Just because you disagree does not make it wrong. It is doing what was intended , draw attention to a problem that too many people are willing to ignore . So because this is an outdoors site I will use the example of the Muskie again, it is legal to keep one a day, you feel that it is not right, but those who keep fish are breaking no laws. It is only your opinion that they are doing something wrong.
