    Default 62 pounds !

Of Sauerkraut , that's what I made yesterday, it was a real workout arms and shoulders are quite sore today , that was a lot of shredding even though I do have a large shredder.
The masher I use to pound it down into my barrel weighs close to 20 pounds and that also adds to the muscle workout, but I will enjoy the fruits of my labour around the end of January.

Great - I used to make the stuff - made pickles and wine too - don't do that anymore but I remember it was fun making it and still better eating and drinking it

Guess I don't get out that much? Sort of a meat n taters guy. But I just can't see the reward in eating rotten cabbage?

Good homemade kraut is to die for and goes great with meat and taters.

    Thumbs up

More of a Kimchi fan (as a side dish or in stir fries) BUT there are times I like that taste of a good Sauerkraut. Has anyone made a burger (1/3 lb or more, mushrooms cooked with it as an option), say a Kaiser bun toasted on the inside, with huntsman (IF you can find it, I tried 4 markets when I was in their area, and finally found it in the 3rd cheese shop in St Lawrence Market recently) or a blue cheese and Sauerkraut?
