Wow, thats a lot of work, good on you. I mentored my son and his cousin so I know what having a new hunter is like. Having started myself in an era where there was no internet to google the answer, and none of my relatives hunted, I learned from my mistakes. I was able to get them each up in trees with one connecting and one still trying.

It is a great feeling to do this. More importantly, teaching the best ways, practices and mistakes I made to ensure new hunters have the best experience. You can only warn so much how loud/shocking/quickly a grouse can burst out the bush...lol. Made for some good laughs. But nothing like seeing someone connect with game, the happy goofy looks and giddy rewards.

Do I ever wish I checked into this board more often. This is something that has been on my mind, wishing there was someone out there that would mentor new hunters and not just the younger generation. I'm in for next fall.

Next year will do the same. This will all depend if I am elected in next spring in the Ontario Provincial Election. I was looking at the fall house schedule...does not look good for early fall hunting season, but deer will be OK.

I am running in Nepean for the Ontario Libertarian Party. My main competition is Lisa McLeod..someone who I used to support.
