Especially in Ontario.
If you like the MNR so much I am sure they would accept any donations you would send them. LOL
Well I'll agree with you on the gov't being totally out of control, but if you don't understand the division between the MNR who begs Wynne for funding every year and Wynne, you will never understand my point anyway.
So enjoy your little pointless revolt that will mean nothing to anyone anyway. May as well just throw a blank piece of paper in the mail box. It will be just as effective.
Or if you want, send me your address and I'll mail you a stamp so you can just do the right thing. Or you could just click the link provided and do it there. There is a time and place to fight the system. This ain't it.

Has too much time on their hands
So last year 85 391 people applied for an adult moose tag (total of choice 1 applicants for the gun and bow seasons for both pool 1 and pool 2) from the Ontario Hunting Regulations. Let's make an estimation that another 15% just purchased a calf tag to bring the total potential Ontario moose hunter to around 98 200.
Last year, 122 430 people applied for an antlerless tag for all the WMU (based on adding up all the 1st applications from the antlerless deer table (both open and bow only)). Based on the fact one can purchase an antlered license and seal without choosing to enter the antlerless draw, we need a bigger factor. I figure 40% more of that number of hunters don't apply for an anterless seal. So that would bring the estimated number of hunters with a deer seal of some kind to approximately 171 500.
Stamps are $.85 for standard letters or cards. So using my numbers, if every questionnaire was an individual one, the grand total to self stamp would be about $229 245. This is small potatoes considering this government has raised the cost of licenses (including the cost of mandatory small game licenses that deer and moose hunters have to purchase) significantly over the last couple of years (and let's not forget the fact the government has dipped into the special purpose account for non hunting and angling purposes).

We all complain about poachers and the lack of enforcement by an underfunded branch of the gov't and yet we then want them to waste more money so your not out the price of a stamp if you can't do it online. I find that really funny from people who are typing on an online forum to complain in the first place. Its not like they don't have online access.
Complain all you want about the billions the liberals have wasted or stolen from us, but complaining about the MNR not prepaying your postage is outrageous.

Why don't these geniuses at the MNR just email the questionnaires to us? Most hunters (that have email) would be willing to get an email reminder that the survey was online or have a pdf attached that could be printed off and mailed back. This would save $$$ in wasted mailing costs on their end.
So many critters & so little time to hunt......

Black Bear season ends tonight and I'm not going out,so,I just finished the survey on-line. I was sent a Moose survey, too, but,I'm not in an area that requires the survey, but,I'll do it,too, even though it'll be all zeros. The data from these surveys are important. Hopefully, everyone fills them out honestly. We'll just be shooting ourselves in the foot if we don't.

How would the MNR get our e-mail address ?
They provide the link to the on-line questionnaire, that should be enough.

If you've ever purchased an outdoors card or license online you'd see that the MNR already offer the opportunity to enter your email address & opt in for email updates and information emails. I've had those opt ins checked for a number of years, but, alas, have never received anything from them. There are extremely basic and inexpensive email software options that they can use to do this type of email campaign. The amount of $$$ they waste in mailings in one year would cover the cost. It's about efficiency and limiting waste.
