The regs do specifically state that Walleye, Pike, Muskie, and Bass close on Sept. 30th for all streams/Rivers in Grey and Bruce counties (on Pg. 80), and that the additional fishing opportunities that apply to select rivers/streams in those counties are specifically for Pacific Salmon, Brown Trout, and Rainbow Trout. They would either have to write a new clause in the "Exceptions to Zone 16 Regulations" specifically stating that all species follow the extended fall season/normal FMZ seasons for those rivers/streams that have the extended fall season (bass and muskie close before Dec. 31), or that they actually enforce the seasons as they are listed within the regulations.

I read that as saying all waters are closed Excluded those water identified for additional fishing oppurtunities, meaning they are open until the species season closes and everybody I've talked to over the years in the different MNRF offices said the same thing, there are CO"s that said they wouldn't be charging people but it only takes one to ruin someones day and I don't want to be the one has that happen. Other MNRF emlpoyees think it's open too but it's being discussed, the CO's Supervisor is involved now and hoping for the right answer soon.

Jeez that's some tricky wording. I do agree with that after reading it again for about the sixth time this week haha, as long as everyone within the MNRF Office/local COs are in agreeance then it shouldn't be a problem. I think I focused more on the seasons than catching "excluding" in the clause leading up to the special season listed for the exception .

No way someones interpretation should be able to close something thats been open for a long long time and should be open.
