Nippissing Ice Watch Thread
Hi everyone. I have a trip planned with the family for Jan 4-6 out on the main lake and I’m hoping that we’ll have enough ice. Don’t want to have to reschedule if I don’t have to.
Any info regarding the lake is welcome for I am about 4 hours away and can’t do any recon for myself.
Good luck this upcoming season and thanks in advance.
Mike.

There are cameras on the lake if you do a quick Google search . Currently the lake is blocked out by bad weather .
Ps there should be no worries about ice this year. This will be the coldest December we have had in awhile just need the winds to die down a bit.
Good luck on your trip the ice reports will be pouring in the next couple of weeks.
This is what nippisising looks like now lol.

Hey, Stands_with_a_fish, I live on the north shore of Nipissing and I have started posting videos documenting the ice formation this year. Since you started this thread I'll post them here. I'm going to try to give daily or semi daily updates. I'm stoked for the season as I'm sure you are. Here are all my current video updates:

I was driving along Hwy 17 from Sturgeon last night and she was almost frozen across to South Shore. It is minus 22 C right now with no wind. Making ice.
