Too bad impact..... yesterday did seem like a really nice day out... with the cold weather and snow starting down her early next week our deer should be hitting food sources pretty good. I myself want to get out a few more times before the season ends, then God willing, coyote hunting for the rest of the winter.
PS.... Nice looking setup there

Funny you should mention them. I was loading the gear up last evening and a pack of them were howling a couple of hundred yards behind me. There was no blood anywhere so I guess they were simply saying goodbye and good riddance...lol
I will also make a point of dusting off the 243 for a return trip there soon!

I feel for you Impact. Sorry you didn't get one...
On another note however, I managed to hang my tag this morning. Made a 210yrd shot on this doe and down she went. Happy to have the meat!

Tough season for me as well. Hunted hard for the last three days of ml season at multiple locations and the bucks were simply not making daytime appearances, even the does were keeping a low profile. I finally shot a doe yesterday for the freezer but must say it has been a lot of years since there have been no antlers hanging in the garage. I (like a lot of guys here) attribute this to the weather, we just didn't get the cold temps required to get the big boys out looking for food imo!

Ditto here; lousy week for hunting all in all. I missed 6 of the 14 possible hunts and 3 more I should have just stayed home due to wind. I did't even see a Buck till the end of the week and I didn't have my ML with me at the time. I passed on a Doe mid-week as I'd already shot one from that bush during the rifle week.
Coyotes were a big problem, I had they coming into the area during daylight hrs (shot one) and they were around most evening at dusk howling. The last two days we had a skiff of snow down and I found yote tracks on my trails heading to my stands, so not a good sign.
But all is not lost, we processed 6 deer thru the barn so some good stories were told and laughs had. We all have some meat for the freezer and will have pepperettes later. .
Thanks guys for all the stories posted on the thread during the week, nice to hear how others are doing and the success had during what will always be (normally) , the best season for hunting Deer.

Did they get a memo that ML is over?...lol
So, in retrospect I just legally shot 2 with a camera....
fyi, I live in a rural subdivision. No hunting allowed.

How's this , at least you were awake to see two does. I was snoozing in my blind when this guy came walking by.IMG_0025.jpg
