    Walmart has a brush similar to the fermanator but much less $. This dog looks more like a golden than shepard. I use the fermanator on mine with good success. You must remember when it is shedding season you can never seem to get all the shedding to stop.

    I use a horse shedding blade, but my dogs have short hair like a horse.

    I use a rake but that's for my setter when he comes back with burrs or similar sticky weeds. The rake works well - again for my application rather than for coat maintenance. Don't need to do anything for my setter otherwise. Perhaps you should consider a setter?!?!?
