Default Cooking on your buddy heater

I have never tried to cook/reheat anything using my buddy heater, but I have heard it's a useful tool to have warm meals on the ice.

Does anyone have some favourite meals, snacks, tips, tricks, modifications etc to share?

On the same note, any thermos food ideas would be great as well!

Reheated a pizza on mine today. A lot of possibilities with a buddy heater and tin foil. I have a small camp cookware set that's handy too.

A google search will come up with some neat mods that guys have rigged up for cooking using sheet metal and grates.

I picked up one of those metal 5 gallon paint roller grates from Home depot for just under five bucks. It hooks onto the handle and is great for hotdogs and water for soup and coffee.

I have found some good videos on youtube. Thanks guys!

Does anyone have any thermos food hacks to share?

One that I use is filling my thermos with boiling water, slip in a few hotdogs before heading out. You have cooked hot dogs. I know not rocket science, but maybe not obvious to others and thought I'd share.

That was the only thermos tip I had, but take some run foil and rest on top of your buddy heater, that way you have a nice warmed up bun to go with the warm hotdogs.
