    Default Buck pics 2014-2017

I saw this buck first in August 2013. He was already a monster. I've seen him several times over the years, but never in rifle season and only once in bow season - front on at 40 yards - I didn't try it. I have his sheds from 2014.

2017 - looks like he's on his way out now.

I’d say that 2016 monster is a different deer...

Thanks for sharing, pretty neat that you have been able to keep getting him on camera over the years!

He's still in velvet there so his antlers look bigger than they really are.
That mess of his left antler in 2016 was already starting in 2015.

Love the length of his tines, especially his brow tines.... Any guesses why you couldn't get on him during rifle or bow season... Nice that you were able to capture him on camera over those 3 - 4 years... and a perfect trophy finding his sheds...

I don't usually hunt here in rifle season. I hunt with a gang up on crown land where we can run dogs.
Also during Oct 25-Nov 20 or so, he doesn't show up very regularly - once every three or four days.
The neighbors run noisy drives through his favourite hangouts - which makes it more difficult too.
Not much I can do about that since they're relatives.

During bow season, I still take the first legal deer so that shortens up my chances too.

In hindsight - if I saved my tag until the last couple of weeks Dec1-15th, I would have had a reasonable chance at him.
But I like hunting too much to not hunt October.

In a nut-shell - I was having fun hunting and not concentrating on getting the big one.
There are other big bucks up here - but this guy has been the #1 for the last few years.
