New to hunting dogs

I've never actually hunted with a dog. Is there anyone around the Cornwall/Ottawa area that hunts raccoon ,rats or squirrel with trained dogs? what type of dog do you use? Lots of information would be greatly appreciated.

for that kind of hunting a Jagd terrier or feist may be what you are looking for. have a look on youtube to see some of them in action. If you are more into the rats, a peek at the patterdale may be worth a look, I doubt they would be any use on squirrels though.

Thanks for the reply, I've done quite a bit of reading on the jagdterrier.. pretty much everyone tells me they can't make a house pet as well as a hunting dog.. they seem to be very intense hunters I must say.
