If anyone has a Canada Radioplayer app on their cell phone, AM640 has on-going coverage.

They just confirmed that it was an attack.
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.

Attackers name is Alek Minassian.
Local radio news( Sk) is reporting that the attack was in response to Canada's approval of the US and ALLIES Missile strike on Syria's chemical weapons facility.
I'll want more confirmation on the reason, but that is what is being reported out here.

After watching the video, I can't believe he is still alive, christ he was playing quick draw McGraw with the police. Lowering and raising what's "believed" to be a gun.

I can. Most of our guys and gals know "suicide by cop" when they see it. Our people aren't as quick on the trigger as other countries. Intel sources say the air waves are very quiet from the usual suspects. This clown might be another village idiot.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Never mind suicide by cops, this country has got to re-instate the death penalty. This guy has got to pay for what he did, and I don't mean life imprisonment.

I live close by, but didn't see any of the actual attack. I get my groceries and to the gym right by where he went on his rampage. Luckily, I was walking around getting some stuff from Rona when this happened. It's pretty surreal, but I don't feel threatened and people around are calm but curious.
One story you won't hear about in the news is that there was a tow truck driver that broke down right there just moments before (you can see his truck in the videos). He was trying to pull into the Shell station and his truck cut out. So he hopped out of his truck and opened up the hood and was poking around inside to try and get it started again when it all unfolded in front of him.

Snowwalker,
The official word yesterday was that there was no national security connection so I am not sure who is reporting that fact but I think they have it wrong and it is probably too soon into the police investigation to draw that conclusion. While I don't doubt that some terrorist group may claim responsibility, I want an official statement by a police force before I believe it.

Way to jump to conclusions, they are claiming now that he was a loner who was angry for being alone, following the 2014 attacks in Isla Vista which was an attack because women rejected him.
