May Long Weekend who's headed out and where ya going?
May Long Weekend who's headed out and where ya going?
Were headed to our usual spot up near Algonquin at Bissett Creek and will be staying at Big Shingle Lake. Enhanced my canoe rack from last year so it now bolts on in 5 minutes and my buddy Tim rebuilt his ATV racks and canoe rack so everything snaps on quickly. Will be testing the equipment before we head up North in July.
Gear is ready, food, etc. Still have to pick up the canoe as I left it down by a river on a friends property last year. Also going to test out a inflatable canoe I was given to see how that works.
We have some new areas to explore and a lake we want to try fishing, might also take the ATV's up to Mattawa to do some exploring.
My son as usual will be going with us. I will be working a half day on Friday so we will be pulling out around 12:30 PM.

Staying close to home to avoid all the traveling nitwits that don't know where they're going, driving like fools and staying away from crazy traffic.

Up here close to the Soo, I've had the fire going in the cabin each night/morning to keep it comfortable. 5 last night with an easterly wind that'll bring us rain. Might be wet out on the lake tomorrow?

No rain in the forecast for tomorrow here but ya never know . It's actually supposed to be way warmer and nicer then home on simcoe. 20 here and sun 15 and rain in the south lol. I have my rain gear just in case tho always gotta be prepared. Maybe by tomorrow evening I'll find some walleye , first time fishing the lake by boat. Only ice fished it a few days a couple years ago . See what happens tomorrow . Lakers here are as big as the perch I'm used to from simcoe haha.
Good luck to all heading out

I have lost my appetite for long weekend road trips. Traffic just gets worse every year. Put down some sod, planted the annuals and today replaced the steps off the deck. Don't miss the bumper to bumper up and down.
