Would it help if the guys would complain?
I for instance could not understand how the 0.5 square inch sticker (we used to have)on the Outdoors card could be replaced by a cheaper 10-12 square inch plastic -self adhesive ,carry on type paperwork. How that could be cheaper.....reasoning to move to this new (or old to be soon)system was cost saving, right?Yes,there is more to the cost then just a sticker.....but.
I may missed it ,but do not recall any public cost breakdown and cost justification for this move,so the reason for that move remains mystery for me(but i may missed something)Never mind why our $ go outside of the country?
At the other hand with low or non existing inflation in Canada why this new system will eliminate the cost increase as stated earlier? There should be none, considering the economy...at best matching the inflation, which is on 50 $ maybe 1 $ a year...of course non proportional fee hike raises questions in ppl's mind?
Government has right to do so,but then they could just say it as such, instead of trying to sell it as something beneficial?
It works in places, but we do not know the ins and outs, and especially we do not know how the impacted THERE feel about this "coming to us"system.
They use it-but they also have no other option.
Clearly ,many members feel not so hot about this change, and it is also clear we can do nothing about it.
Case could be closed.
There is an old saying-if ain't broken,do not fix it!
Just my 2 cents....

Unless it can be done cheaper.....which is always the deciding factor when it comes to government contracts...reality is we send soldiers to war with equipment built by the lowest bidder.

Based on the limited info in the link I originally provided, it isn't clear if reports are going to be required within a certain time frame after the kill (i.e. the current system for mandatory turkey harvest reporting) or whether it will be at season's end (i.e. the current system for mandatory controlled deer hunt reporting). It could very well be a combination of the two, where successful hunters report when they fill their tag, and everyone else reports after the season. At this point, it is a mystery to everyone, except the people making the rules.
• Anyone issued a Tag (moose, deer, elk, bear, turkey,
wolf/coyote for select WMUs) will have a mandatory
reporting requirement (whether they hunted or not).
• System will track reporting obligations, send reminders and provide
confirmation of submitted reports.

Sure it works. Give me your money and print yourself, win-win situation.
But then it opens the door to easy poaching... And a PITA for some in remote areas.....Who cares, it works, we got your money....
