Default $125 fine leaving Quinte yesterday

I was leaving Bay of Quinte yesterday morning with my son. Big Island area.
We were pulled over by Conversation officer. We had fillets from 3 fish frozen in a bag.
When filleting I did not leave a 1" patch of skin on the fillets.
$125 fine for not doing that. Plus he took the fish of course.
I'm not complaining. I knew that should be done - just didn't.
    Lesson learned for future.

Apparently you don't have to pay the fine anyway.

The gov't doesn't come after you for not paying fines in regards to fish and game act type of stuff. I just learned this myself in another thread on here a few weeks back.

Government always go after what's owed to them. You are miss informed.

Nope not for fishing and hunting, there are millions in outstanding fine.

Too bad about the fine, glad you are taking it like a champ....I am all for enforcement/education but lots of ways to do that without making one pay especially since there was no intent... my 2cts.

Yes they can and they are starting to. There is a section in the FWCA that allows them to do so and a process to go through but they have done this in the past and are still doing it from what I hear. They will send you a demand letter for the unpaid fines giving a period of time to pay at which time, if not paid go for a court order to have your licenses cancelled/suspended until such time the fine is paid.
