Muskoka Outboard Motor Mechanic
Hello: Do any of you know of an outboard motor mechanic in the Muskoka, Orillia, Barrie area? I am trying to put together a classic
boat and have run into difficulties with the 1965 Johnson 75 HP. The regular marinas here say it is too old for them to work on but I
have a complete parts engine and many spare parts. Thanks, Rick in Muskoka.

Something that old you may want to learn how to fix yourself.. old motors take a lot of time, and if your paying shop rate it quickly becomes more than the motor is worth.
I fix motors in Sudbury, and the i spend more time on research and finding parts than the repairs on the old ones.

Hi Gypsee, Thanks for our advise. I am usually very good at doing my own repairs. I own about 10 outboards dated between 1953 and 1994. I have rebuilt blocks and am proficient at changing lower ends, etc. This particular motor just has me stumped with an electrical glitch that I can't find so that is why I am looking for professional help.

Paul is very good and is repairing a damaged prop shaft and pinion gear on my 1994 Johnson right now but he says he can't work on anything as old a 1965.
