New to Moose hunting, but not a new hunter
Hi,
We recently moved from Ottawa Valley area to Northern Ontario - WMU24.
Previoue to moving up here, I hunted mainly 63A - deer, bear, grouse. Now that we live up here, I applied to the moose draw. Like most, I didn’t score a bull tag, but did receive a calf seal.
Am I correct in understanding, there is no validation tag to go with this seal?
As I’m both a bow hunter and firearm, and ensuring I’m in the right season for both, I can attempt to hunt a calf in WMU24?

You're correct about the validation. You may hunt calf Moose in any WMU in Ontario during the open season. Good luck.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Except those WMUs that require a calf tag draw. I can’t recall which WMUs those are...

WMU 48,55A&B,57 require adult and calf tag applications for the draw. Calf open season is reduced to only a 2 week period of the entire season in every other WMU in the province.

Yes well we have a cabin by Opasatika and have been coming up there for years great area

Make not of the open calf season dates. Generally calf season opens after the archery only season. Of course you can shoot one with your bow during the regular open season but not likely during the bow only season.
