    Default Canadian Tire Gun Inventory

For those that have area CTC stores that carry guns, I am curious as to the number they have in inventory. I just visited a store in New Liskeard where they had a huge rack. I was told that they had over 200 in stock, with prices as good or better than Cabelas or Bass Pro. I was quite impressed.

Cambridge (Dundas Location) Canadian Tire.......They also have a big display (about 150 or so)... They price match guns and ammo too.... It's quite impressive for a Canadian Tire store.

Location relative to other established gun stores might play a role. Some more remote parts of the province, or country, CTC might be the only game in town. Here in Barrie the north end store had some when they got back into the game but I don't think they have anything but airguns now. The south end store has quite a few guns and a much better hunting section all together. Not sure if owner has choice or if it is based on space?

    About a hundred in Yellowknife.
A friend just got a Winchester 1873 there for less than Cabela's wanted.

thunderbelly is correct -- Canadian Tires are franchised, and the franchisee can choose whether or not they would like to carry firearms/ammunition and foot the bill for complying with all of the legislation. Franchises also change hands sometimes so a store might suddenly stop or start carrying firearms/ammo.

A change in ownership at our local store resulted in no more guns

Barrie near Cabela's has a huge selection BUT twice I've called looking for something, left a message and never got a call back.

Instead I used my CT money I had saved up and bought stuff we needed for the house like toilet paper and spent the equivalent at Cabela's since they actually answered the phone.
