For Triple Seven (so named because) 100 grains volume equals 77.7 grns by weight . Blackhorn’s Load Table says 100 gr of BH209 by volume equals 70grs by weight.
So the marketing dept at Blackhorn figured that you can get the same number of 100 gr loads (by volume) from 10oz BH209 as you get from 16 oz of T7…so they packaged it like that then charged 50% more because people are well, in general, gullible.

777 from Cabelas is $45, BH209 is $80, not sure what the prices are at other place.
The numbers seem to be all over the map, volumetric measurements are not very precise I know, but 75-82gr weight / 100gr volume for 777 depending on FF or FFF, 70gr weight / 100gr volume for BH209.
If you are shooting over and over again without cleaning the BH is supposed to take that a lot better than the 777.
The cost of muzzle loading is really getting up there, $1.29/shot for BH209 powder, $0.14 for primer/shot, $2.33 for Federal Trophy Sabot slug, $3.76 per shot, that is equivalent to $75.20 for a box of 20 rifle shots, really getting up there.

Imagine that a Mom and pops place , Ross Hickey in TinCap, sold me BH209 for $65.25...undercutting the Big Box Stores...nice to see.
Not sure if I ever saw T7 FFFg loose powder, wasn't very common in this neck of the woods. Few tradional side lock guys would switch from Goex, so no real market there and most inline manufacture specs favored FFG

Im considering switching over. I hear that it is much cleaner to shoot. I have found the triple 7 very dirty and only get about 3 rounds and I need to clean. After the 3rd round I wont get a 4th seated all the way down. Hoping the 209 will give me a few more shots.

What do those guys charge for 777?
The FFFg stuff is around, it is supposed to burn cleaner than the FFg in a 50 cal, I am going to get a bottle from Gord a pay cheque or two down the road.

Higginson's charge $32 for both T7 FFg or FFFg ...
Makes it hard at that price to substantiate paying twice the price of BH209 based on " it's cleaner"...

Ya, that is where I am coming from, the velocity change is not all that significant, but the ability to clean means a lot to some, although it is not safe like smokeless.
