Blaze Orange clothing Dye
Does anyone know of any products to brighten or dye clothing to a Blaze orange colour. I have a coat that is fading pretty bad and wanted to brighten it up. I'd normally probably just by a new one but this one was handed down to by my grandfather and it is really warm and comfortable.
Thanks in advance!

Just throw a light over sized vest over top of it .

Might be tough. Certainly using a plain hunter orange vest is the easiest fix. I washed a vest and was surprised that it did brighten up quite a bit but a coat, and an older one at that, might not work out as well. Would dry cleaning be an option?

I think I would lean toward the vest option? I doubt very much that using a dye would give you the correct brilliance needed to comply with regs.?

Better safe than sorry, throw on the vest over top. The COs carry an orange card with them. Your orange has to be as bright or brighter.

I got away from the solid Blaze orange coat idea a few yrs back. The weather was so warm I didn't need a coat, just a hoodie so I bought a vest. It keeps me legal while wearing anything from a t-shirt, hoody, jacket up to coats or coveralls...depending on the weather.

I have a hi-viz blaze orange sweat shirt hoody with reflective stripes that go beyond OMNRF requirements for warm weather big game hunting. I hate being over warm and breaking out in a sweat. For the OP's favorite coat,Can Tire sells blaze orange vests for under $20.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

I've never heard of any type of dye suitable. As a few others mentioned I'd be going with that light weight vest.
I used to hunt with a group of guys north of Parry Sound and a CO did lay into a few guys about their faded orange coats.
Warned them but did say next time it's ticket time !!

You can't have reflective strips...sorry.
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.
