Default New smoke pole less the smoke

After being silly and selling my SS laminate 10ml2 to a buddy last year. I needed a replacement for the nearly approaching muzzleloader deer season here in Manitoba and for Ontario when I get back home. I turned my left handed small shank 308 Savage 11 trophy hunter into a .50 cal.

Picked up a lh 209 bolt nose from Arrowhead along with a recoil lug and barrel nut. I would have liked to get a .45 cal brux too, but do to time constraints with exporting I may turn my large shank into that down the road. So this time went with a 25" 1:26 twist Green Mountain from Cecil Epp at Prbullet along with a stainless savage style breech plug.

Threw it in the synthetic stock for the time being while waiting on a boyds prairie hunter blind mag stock. Which should be here this week hopefully. On top sits a Vx-3 2.5-8 in Warne quick detach rings on a Warne picatinny rail.

Hopefully this likes Hornady 325ftx and orange mmp sabots like the 10ml2 did. Going to start with Reloder 7 and H4198 and go from there.

You aren’t going to want to hear this but Luke will now ship all ML barrels direct.

Small shank Brux should be here in two days.

Ugh, oh well! I didn't want to tear apart the large shank 300 wsm quite yet anyways. May need a long range deer poker in the farmland here. If I don't tag out in m/l season that is. I want to be able to maximize a .45 and use a large shank. Maybe next year. I would like to make a switch barrel 450 marlin and M/L with brux barrels. Wouldnt have to switch bolt faces just spin on the barrel.

One other cool option if you have some smith skills is to buy the nutless Brux for the savage small shank. 1.25 inch barrel which is even stronger than the Large shank savage barrel.

Although this year I am going the other way. Instead of pushing the 3k envelope I am backing my loads down to 2500 fps/300 grain.

We are seeing same accuracy out to 300 yards with 1576 FPE and 22 inch drop.
