    Ok, so baiting a deer would be different than shooting a turkey on a roost.

    If you saw a buck napping in the summer sun, would it be ok for you to shoot that deer or would you have to get it up and awake first?

    Thats called poaching Fox shooting a buck napping in the summer sun .
    I choose to hunt my quarry during their legal season.

    Oct 1st I have hunted under the summer sun, 25C in a T-shirt, hunted the rifle season in short before too, it felt really wrong.

    That would be the Fall sun.
    First day of Fall was September 22.
    Hunting in October is in the fall.

    Yea I'm pretty much sure Indian Summer usually takes place mid Oct....so yea, it's a 'summer' sun figuratively. .
